Welcome to the Chicago Urban Ignite Summer Virtual Tutoring Program. This manual provides tutors with the expectations, procedures, instructional practices, and resources needed to deliver high-quality reading instruction throughout the summer.

1. Program Overview

The Summer Virtual Tutoring Program is designed to improve reading skills through individualized instruction, relationship building, interactive learning, and positive reinforcement.

6. No-Show Procedures

Grace Period

Students are allowed a 10-minute grace period.

Process

  1. Wait 10 minutes.
  2. Mark student as No Show.
  3. Notify supervisor.
  4. Contact parent/guardian.
  5. Document absence.
