Vocabulary Bingo & Reading Resources
Vocabulary Bingo Instructions
Required Activity: Tutors should play Vocabulary Bingo at least once per week.
- Ask students to take out their blank Bingo boards.
- Read the vocabulary word list aloud and display it on the screen if possible.
- Have students write one vocabulary word in each square of their Bingo board.
- If using a 5×5 board, students may use the center square as a FREE SPACE.
- Once all boards are filled in, begin the game.
- Instead of calling vocabulary words, read a definition, synonym, example, or clue.
- Students identify the matching word and mark it on their board.
- When a student gets five squares in a row (across, down, or diagonal), they call out "Bingo!"
- Verify the answers by reviewing the clues and marked words.
- Continue playing additional rounds if time permits.
End-of-Summer Celebration
Students who participate throughout the summer will receive an item from the prize bag.
